As the defence industry in Australia continues to implement changes arising from the First Principles Review, it is becoming more critical that defence suppliers adopt practices and methodologies that ensure they can reliably and consistently deliver the required quality, in full and on time. The demands of the defence industry are high and as such the industry has had a long association with the application of lean-six sigma methodologies. For defence suppliers, maintaining a capability in the application of these methodologies is essential to operate effectively in this arena. 

Kallista Consulting is well established as a provider of productivity services to the defence industry in Australia. Our past work in reducing the lead time from design brief to production for a defence supplier is evidenced by our recent receipt of a Letter of Recognised Supply (LORS) for our ongoing contributions to operations at Thales. 

We can support defence suppliers by providing training in lean and six sigma methods, tools and methodologies, establishing 5S and Visual Management Systems, developing fast changeover tactics, reducing the lead time from design brief to production runs, reducing production bottlenecks to improve flow, introducing kanban for robust parts management and much more. 

We have designed and facilitated Lean Training for Victoria Police, NSW Police and the Australian Federal Police as well as providing support in numerous improvement programs for these organisations.
