About our Warehouse & Inventory Management Training Workshops

In this video, Chris Baker discusses how this training workshop explained the fundamentals of warehouse layout and inventory control that help your warehouse team to maintain high productivity and minimise the costs associated with carrying inventory.

Why Inventory & Warehouse Management is Important to You

Reduced stock-outs

Running out of high-turn inventory is a big opportunity loss and can create a lot of  time consuming and margin eroding recovery activity. A properly set up warehouse management system will reflect usage rates and lead times so that inventory is replenished in a timely fashion.

Reduced carrying costs

By avoiding carrying excess or obsolete inventory business can reduce costs and minimise clutter and safety hazards. Well developed systems replenish only what is required for upcoming and future orders.

Low warehouse productivity

Having a well organised and structured warehouse improves the effectiveness of day-to-day warehouse operations, such as receiving goods, picking and packing stock, despatching goods and conducting warehouse maintenance activities.

But there are things that get in the way….

Inventory and warehouse management are disciplines that require a specific knowledge base along with the right tools and methods. While these do not, in most cases, need to be particularly complex or hard to implement, the gap is usually in the training of warehouse staff. We find that many warehouse employees rely on their familiarity of the layout to remember where things are, and replenishment is all too often simply a “Go-See” approach.
