Most leadership development programs aren’t up to date - what’s missing from yours?
There is some good guidance here about choosing the right approach to develop your leaders. It emphasises the need for an ongoing program that incorporates tailoring to individual needs and includes engaging learning content, all of which I agree are very important. I would add that an ‘opt-in’ mentoring program that allows for frank and confidential discussions around specific challenges can also be beneficial for participants. And a practical component where participants execute projects designed to develop leadership skills can be extremely effective at translating the learning into meaningful behavioural changes.
